What Is Sound Insulation?

Sound insulation refers to reducing the movement of sound within a building. It is measured in terms of sound reduction index, which is defined by a series of international standards (including the venerable ISO 140) and regional variations. As its name implies, sound insulation provides protection against noise and vibration. In addition to reducing noise, it also improves comfort and energy efficiency.

Acoustic insulation reduces the movement of sound
