Knauf Plasterboard

Knauf plasterboard is an ivory paper faced wallboard designed for decorating directly or receiving a plaster finish, typically found in commercial premises walls and ceilings. As it meets standard fire, acoustic, and structural requirements, it is considered an economical product choice that meets fire safety, acoustic quality standards as well.

Reynold’s recently joined forces with USG Boral to form an industry giant, creating tremendous possibilities for drywall and plaster manufacturers worldwide. This merger may also have significant ramifications for manufacturers who provide both materials.

Easy to install

Knauf gypsum plasterboard ceilings are easy to install, providing a high quality finish without much fuss or headaches. This makes them an appealing alternative to the laborious work involved with sanding and painting traditional ceilings.

Knauf offers several plasterboard products designed for residential wall and ceiling installations. Knauf’s SoundShield Plus product, for instance, helps reduce noise levels in residential and commercial properties by using its high-density core to absorb vibrations while the acoustic cladding protects against external sound sources. CurveShield from Knauf offers extra tight curve protection.

Knauf has recently introduced SHEETROCK ONE as a lightweight 10mm plasterboard solution to simplify installation even further. This allows easier cutting, transport and storage, while streamlining manufacturing and delivery operations. SHEETROCK ONE can be used in walls, ceilings and partitions and features an ivory paper face perfect for direct decoration or plaster finishing finishes.

Environmentally-friendly

Knauf is dedicated to building greener homes. Their products, such as gypsum wallboards, are constructed using eco-friendly raw materials that comply with local fire, sound insulation and moisture control regulations – helping reduce energy usage while simultaneously improving comfort and health in buildings.

Knauf plasterboards feature an eco-friendly gypsum core enclosed and attached to strong paper liners, making it a more environmentally-friendly building material than brick. Their excellent acoustic performance also make this material highly desirable, while Cleaneo C technology captures pollutants while neutralizing formaldehyde levels in the air, improving indoor quality while decreasing air emissions.

Knauf’s SHEETROCK ONE 10mm plasterboard is the first product on the Australian market that seamlessly combines multiple performance characteristics into a single, user-friendly board, such as acoustic, impact, fire and moisture resistance – meeting market requirements while remaining simple for installation.

Fire-resistant

Knauf offers an extensive range of high-performance boards designed to meet specific fire, moisture, impact and sound requirements. Examples of such products are:

Standard gypsum plasterboard, commonly referred to as drywall, consists of an aerated gypsum core enclosed and adhered with strong paper liners for extra support and strength. This construction material reduces time and money spent in building projects by lightening wall weight while still offering smooth surfaces suitable for painting or plastering.

Knauf wallboard comes in many formats, from impact-resistant Knauf ImpactShield X and CurveShield plasterboards that can withstand higher impacts such as from tools, luggage or furniture without cracking into pieces, to Knauf’s SoundShield with its high density core that protects against impact noise – perfect for spiral staircases and sloping walls. Knauf also offers SoundShield as an acoustic gypsum plasterboard used as sound insulation in offices or living rooms – perfect for wall and ceiling linings in offices or living rooms alike!

Moisture-resistant

Knauf drywall is designed to withstand humid environments, making it the ideal choice for areas with high humidity levels. Its gypsum core does not absorb water vapor while antifungal preparations prevent the development of fungi on its surface – providing durable yet versatile drywall solutions suitable for many purposes.

Master UNIFIX or Knauf Perlfix adhesive compounds provide direct adhesion. Sheathing panels may also be used to cover archways, partitions and niches as well as ceiling frames made from aluminum or metal profiles.

Knauf-type plasterboard partitions can be assembled quickly. After prepping and mounting insulation, engineering communications and plaster layer onto an already prepared frame, insulation should be added on top before testing ventilation and heating systems to ensure operability. Thermal insulation tape should then be wrapped around its frame. Knauf drywall comes in various sizes; for bulk purchases it’s best to reach out to wholesalers.
