The researchers intend to initially use the ready-to-install memory steel profiles to reinforce load-bearing structures in old buildings. As soon as new windows, doors or lift shafts are installed in the concrete structure, it is usually necessary to increase their load-bearing capacity. In confined spaces, the profile can be fastened to the ceiling using dowels and quickly heated with electricity or an infrared radiator.
