When selecting a suitable lagging material for a pipeline, there are various types available. We will discuss AP Armaflex, HT/Armaflex, Class O, and FRV Armaflex. All of these are suitable for different applications. For each type, we will outline the differences and their benefits. You can then decide on the best option based on your requirements and budget. Here are some tips for choosing the right lagging:
AP Armaflex
AP Armaflex pipe lagging is easy to install and incredibly convenient. It wraps easily and sticks to pipes firmly, eliminating the need for wires and bands to secure the insulation. It can be applied in multiple layers for the ultimate in service and protection. Its high-quality, patented material withstands extreme temperatures and can be used on a wide range of applications. Its flexible design enables easy application in a variety of applications.
AP Armaflex pipe lagging is a closed cell, elastomeric insulation that reduces heat flow and protects against condensation and mold. The patented closed-cell foam structure provides superior water-vapor transmission properties, eliminating the need for additional vapor retarders. It is also resistant to surface punctures. It is designed to maintain its integrity even when exposed to high temperatures and corrosive chemicals.
In addition to its superior heat-resistant properties, AP Armaflex pipe lagging is easy to install, reducing labor costs and installation time. Its flexible design makes it ideal for difficult-to-reach bends and valves. Its insulating qualities are unmatched in the industry and are guaranteed to save energy and money. Its unique, closed-cell structure helps prevent cold temperatures from affecting your pipes.
HT/Armaflex
HT/Armaflex pipe lating is an ideal insulation solution for pipes in outdoor locations. Its high UV resistance, vapour barrier, and low maintenance costs make it the ideal choice for high-temperature applications. HT/Armaflex is available in thicknesses of 10mm, 13mm, and 19mm and is made from synthetic EPDM rubber based foam. It is also available in custom shapes to fit varying pipe diameters.
HT/Armaflex pipe laging has excellent insulation properties, making it the ideal choice for solar heating pipe systems. It is also suitable for dual temperature and hot gas lines. This thermoplastic insulation is a flexible, closed cell EPDM rubber that is UV resistant. Its glue is specially formulated to resist heat and cold and is suitable for a wide range of temperatures. It is also FM approved and features a Class 1 flammability rating.
HT/Armaflex pipe laging is available in flat sheet form. It can be cut into mitres or points to fit tight T-junctions. Its lightweight, flexible, and non-toxic construction makes it a practical option for solar and high-temperature pipe applications. Its fire-resistance conforms to NFPA 274, making it an ideal choice for hot and cold applications.
FRV Armaflex
FRV Armaflex is a closed-cell, nitrile rubber insulation material with low thermal conductivity and excellent water vapour diffusion resistance. Its low thermal conductivity and zero ozone-depleting properties make it an excellent choice for both heated and cold water services and refrigerant pipes. FRV Armaflex pipe lagging is available in a wide range of thicknesses and is made to suit a variety of different pipe sizes.
FRV Armaflex pipe laging has been designed to meet stringent fire and structural performance requirements. It is independently tested and has passed all NFPA 274 requirements for fire safety. It also supports the green building certification programs, and its GREENGUARD GOLD certification means it can improve indoor air quality. It is a low-maintenance alternative to steel, copper, and other common pipe insulation materials.
FRV Armaflex pipe laging meets the Australian Standard AS/NZS 4859.1 and is suitable for commercial applications. It is available in flat sheet or pre-formed pipe sections. It is also available with adhesive and pipehangers. The fire performance of ArmaFlex is also certified by the FM Approval Board. Once installed, it is easy to remove and store.
Class O Armaflex
AF/Armaflex is a renowned brand of closed cell foam insulation. It provides superior protection against thermal losses, condensation, and moisture accumulation. It is particularly effective in the insulating of mechanical piping systems, including chilled water lines. It is also FM approved, and offers a Class 0 flammability rating. This makes it an ideal choice for applications where a high degree of resistance to abrasion and heat is needed.
AF/Armaflex Class O pipe lagging is equipped with in-built anti-microbial protection. Microban technology prevents the growth of harmful microbes. Its ST/SK pre-cut elastomeric insulation features a special pressure-sensitive adhesive that provides a strong bond. Its easy-to-use Insul-Lock technology is also highly beneficial in improving the working conditions. It is flexible and easy to install in cold temperatures, and is highly effective in reducing the time and amount of adhesive used in the installation process.
Microban(r) protection
Armacell manufactures an extensive line of insulation products, including Microban(r) protection for AP ArmaFlex pipe lagging. This antimicrobial product protection helps prevent the growth of mold, mildew and bacteria. This feature is built into the AP ArmaFlex manufacturing process. It also inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria. And because it is a permanent barrier, Microban doesn’t wear off or wash off, providing continuous protection from mold, mildew, and mildew.
AP Armaflex pipe lagging is available in both white and black colors. Its closed-cell structure resists mold, mildew, and freezing, while Microban antimicrobial product protection prevents the growth of fungi and bacteria. The AP Armaflex pipe lagging is also suitable for use with liquid cooling lines. Because of its closed cell structure, Armaflex pipe lagging offers superior condensation control and built-in vapor barrier. In addition, Microban pipe lagging features a self-sealing, durable seal.
MICROBAN(r) protection for armaflex pipe insulation has been independently tested to withstand temperatures up to 250degF for up to 96 hours. Armacell measures the product using the methods recommended by ASTM C411 Standard Test Method for High-Temperature Thermal Insulation. Other measurement methods may not yield identical results and cannot determine whether the product is within a certain tolerance.
