Can Your Cavity Wall Insulation Breathe?

Your cavity wall insulation needs to be able to breathe. Otherwise, moisture could build up inside walls and cause dampness issues in your home.

EPS Bonded Beads contain 98% air, making them one of the most naturally insulating materials available. Blown bead insulation provides full cavity fill, reduces cold spots and eliminates time-consuming fitting board installations by bricklayers.

ThermaBead Carbon Saver

Bead insulation uses EPS beads that are bound together using a bonding agent so they do not shrink or pull away from wall framing, thus protecting against heat loss or damp penetration into your home if the insulation becomes detached from its substrate. Otherwise, gaps could form between it and walls which allow heat out or damp in, both which are detrimental to its structural integrity and can compromise your home environment.

Bead insulation for cavity walls is an extremely long-lasting material, which does not deteriorate over time, unlike fibrous materials which rely on water repellent additives to remain watertight. Beads also allow free flowing insulation that ensures an even distribution throughout your wall cavities to avoid cold spots and address settlement issues identified with other materials.

Bead insulation can be easily installed into your property using our specialist equipment, requiring far fewer holes than other systems (typically 22mm; about the size of a 10p piece). Once complete, our 25-year industry backed IAA guarantee will offer peace of mind to homeowners as this product reduces energy costs by up to 80% and has become the go-to insulation option for new builds in the UK.

Ecobead Platinum

Ecobead Platinum offers an innovative solution to achieving the U-Value you desire in your home, using high performance insulated beads secured to a tight honey comb matrix with water-based adhesive for fast and simple installation, lasting throughout its lifetime. It was designed for quick and effortless performance that will outlive its initial investment value.

EcoBead/EcoBead Platinum was specifically created to meet the energy efficiency requirements set forth in Part J Building Regulations 1997 to 2006 and should be installed into walls composed of brick as an inner leaf and either concrete block or other types of blocks as an outer leaf.

Storage, Delivery and Marking EcoBead/ EcoBead PLatinum insulation should be delivered to site in bulk containers that have been clearly marked with IAB identification markings featuring this Certificate number, and stored dry. Installation procedures must follow those described in section 2.4 for optimal results, with each hole receiving injection of insulation for complete cavity fill. Furthermore, trunked air vents must remain clear during this process.

Ecobead Gold

Ecobead Gold insulation is a high-performance product composed of insulated beads sealed into an dense honeycomb matrix and held together using water-based adhesive. Springvale’s BBA approved installers supply and fix this system designed to allow airflow into the cavity wall space while still sustaining thermal performance for life.

Installation is quick and straightforward without waste, providing significant environmental advantages by significantly raising your U Value. This creates a warmer home all year round while simultaneously cutting heating costs.

Superior Insulations’s team of authorised Ecobead installers will arrive at your property and install insulation to the specified areas, without disrupting you or disturbing any areas inside. Once complete, you will notice a temperature difference almost instantly! Cement putty will then be used to fill any drill holes left by our installation process – your property will look exactly the same; except warmer!

Ecobead Silver

Bead insulation stands out from its competitors by not requiring the installation of cavity boards; rather it is injected through small holes on the exterior face of your property into its cavity walls without creating a mess and freeing you up to make other home improvement works like adding windows or doors.

Bead insulation will not deteriorate over time and can outlive your property. Not only is it waterproof and rotproof, it won’t support mold growth either! Plus it won’t affect permeability in any way and allow your cavity to “breathe”.

Bead insulation can be applied to new builds as well as retrofitted existing houses provided that their cavity width is at least 40mm. Energy savings achieved with bead insulation are significant and will pay dividends through lower energy bills; your home will become warmer during winter and cooler during summer, creating more consistent temperature conditions which help reduce condensation and rodent infestation.
