Kingspan TR27 insulation boasts one of the lowest thermal conductivities available, making energy bills significantly reduced. Specifically designed to stop heat escaping from flat roofs and create an ambient living or working space with more comfortable temperatures control, Kingspan TR27 will make life much more pleasant and cost effective for anyone in any setting.
The 150mm thick insulation features a fibre free, rigid thermoset polyisocyanurate (PIR) core which has been coated on both sides with glass tissue facings for maximum waterproofing efficiency and compatibility with most bitumen and asphalt waterproofing systems.
Easy to install
Kingspan Thermaroof’s insulation system, Thermaroof (r) is specifically designed to insulate flat roofs waterproofed using various systems, such as fully adhered single ply membrane, partially bonded built up felt roof systems, mastic asphalt or cold liquid applied waterproofing systems and cold liquid applied systems. Furthermore, it’s compatible with many bitumen based and mastic asphalt green roof systems.
This 150mm insulation features a fibre free rigid thermoset polyisocyanurate (PIR) core with coated glass tissue faces on both sides, making it the perfect choice for homeowners seeking to enhance the thermal envelope of their homes and enhance energy efficiency. Thermal conductivities as low as 0.024 W/mK make this an attractive choice.
Thermaroof insulation is manufactured using Nilflam technology, an environmentally-friendly process which utilizes rigid PIR insulation blown with a blowing agent that has zero ODP and low GWP emissions. Furthermore, Thermaroof material resists water vapour and humidity conditions for damp conditions – ideal features that make this an excellent choice for new build and refurbishment projects alike. Furthermore, It is lightweight, easy to cut/handle/install as well.
Good thermal conductivity
Kingspan TR27 insulation features a fibre-free rigid thermoset PIR (polysiocyanurate) core that is covered with two sides of coated glass tissue that autohesively adheres to it during manufacturing.
The board is resistant to water, making it ideal for use on flat roofs. Furthermore, its durability ensures it remains free from fungi or rodent infestation – helping ensure insulation remains in great condition over time. When properly installed and maintained it has an extremely long lifespan.
TR27 insulation is ideal for flat roofs waterproofed with single-ply non-bituminous membranes that are fully or partially adhered, as well as cold liquid applied systems such as mastic asphalt and cold liquid applied waterproofing systems such as cold liquid applied systems (including green roof systems ). Certified as “Very Good” to the Framework Standard for Responsible Sourcing of Construction Products (FRSCP), and fire-rated to B1, Kingspan Kooltherm sheets feature blowing agents with zero ODP/GWP as well as excellent thermal conductivity of 0.024 W/mK.
Resistant to fungi
Kingspan TR27 insulation is designed to withstand fungi and mold that could otherwise destroy its materials, which is particularly important in the UK where high rainfalls may cause moisture leakage to invade homes, compromising insulation materials. Moisture intrusion also leads to mold growth which, if left unchecked, could result in rot or fungal infection of structures within homes, as well as structural deterioration that requires regular checks of waterproof membranes for signs of degradation. Hence it is vitally important that waterproof membranes be installed correctly so they remain undamed against damage.
This phenolic rigid thermoset PIR insulation is suitable for flat roofs waterproofed with fully adhered single-ply membranes, partially bonded built up felt and asphalt roofing systems or cold liquid applied systems, such as cold liquid applied systems. The PIR features coated glass tissue facings on both sides which are autohesively adhered to its core during production for autohesive bonding during manufacturing – offering U values up to 0.24W/m2K while being CFC, HCFC and HFC free with zero Ozone Depletion Potential and low Global Warming Potential.
Kingspan, the leading manufacturer of PIR insulation in the UK, produces TR27 insulation products with excellence and long-term sustainability in mind. They have received outstanding certification according to BES 6001 for ethical sourcing of materials as well as receiving an A+ Green Guide rating.
Resistant to water vapour
Kingspan Thermaroof TR27 insulation board is an exceptional high performance fibre free rigid PIR (polyisocyanurate) board designed with coated glass tissue on both sides autohesively bonded during production, specifically created to insulate flat roofs waterproofed by fully adhered single ply, partially adhered built up felt, partially bonded built up felt membranes or cold liquid applied membranes; additionally it can also accommodate most green roof systems.
Kingspan TR27 insulation is easy to handle and install, resistant to water vapour seepage, suitable for new construction as well as refurbishment projects, and fire rated to Euroclass E, B and C standards.
Vapour barriers should only be installed when insulation requires infrequent maintenance access or there is no risk of condensation, while in all other cases they should be attached directly to the insulation material itself; otherwise their integrity could be compromised and this should not occur. This is particularly relevant where insulation is being fastened to a steel deck as an unsettled vapour barrier could compromise this connection and jeopardise its integrity.
